Which guide do you need?

Most people land here with one of three problems. If your iPhone photos will not open on a Windows PC or upload to a website, they are HEIC files and you want the iPhone, Windows or Mac guide, depending on where the photos are right now. If you are not sure what HEIC even is, or why Apple started using it, start with the explainer. If the issue is volume rather than format, a folder of several hundred images that all need the same treatment, the batch guide covers doing the lot in one pass.

How these guides work

Every method described here runs in your browser. The converter on this site decodes and re-encodes each image locally using WebAssembly, so your files are never sent to a server, never queued for processing, and never stored. There is no account to create, no file-size ceiling imposed by an upload limit, and no watermark on the result. You can prove it: disconnect from the network after the page loads and the converter still works, because the service worker has already cached everything it needs.

Where a guide describes a built-in operating-system feature instead, Preview on macOS, Photos on Windows, the iPhone camera setting, it says so plainly and tells you when that route is the better one. The aim is to solve the problem, not to send you through this site for its own sake.

Start converting

If you already know the conversion you need, skip the reading: HEIC to JPG, HEIC to PNG, WebP to JPG, PNG to JPG, JPG to PDF and SVG to PNG are the ones people reach for most, and the full list of converters covers the rest. The no-upload explainer shows exactly how the on-device processing is verified.
