Crop, rotate and straighten your photos
Three fixes for three common problems: a batch that came off the camera sideways, a horizon that isn't quite level, or a frame that needs trimming down to one part of the photo. Pick a mode, and every photo you drop gets the same treatment.

Rotate: for a batch that's sideways or upside down
Rotate 90 degrees clockwise, 180, or 270, applied identically to every photo in the batch. This is a matrix transform, not a re-render, so there's no quality loss, the same pixels just land in a different arrangement.
Straighten: for a horizon that's a few degrees off
A slider from -45 to 45 degrees rotates the photo by exactly that amount, then crops in from the edges so no transparent corner triangle is left where the frame no longer covers a square canvas. Small angles work best, this is for a horizon that's a couple of degrees off, not a photo that needs a quarter turn, that's what Rotate is for.
Crop: for trimming down to one part of the photo
Crop is the one mode that asks something of you per photo, rather than applying one setting to a whole batch, because where to crop is a judgment call only you can make for each shot. Drag a box over the area to keep, mark the photo done, and the tool moves you straight to the next one in the queue.
Leaving no selection on a photo keeps it unchanged rather than failing or skipping it, so a batch with a mix of some-need-cropping and some-don't works in one pass.
Nothing is uploaded
Every photo is decoded, transformed and re-encoded in your browser tab. Disconnect from the internet after this page loads and it still works, because nothing here ever needed a server in the first place.
Quick questions
Does rotating lose any quality?
No. A 90, 180 or 270 degree rotation just rearranges the existing pixels, there's no re-sampling involved.
Why does straightening crop the photo too?
Rotating by a small angle leaves transparent triangles in the corners where the frame no longer covers a square canvas. Cropping them out is the only way to end up with a clean rectangle.
Can I crop several photos at once?
Each photo in a crop batch gets its own selection box, since where to crop is different for every photo. You'll go through them one at a time rather than setting one crop for the whole batch.
What happens if I don't draw a crop box on a photo?
It's left unchanged and passed through as-is, so you can skip photos in a batch that don't need cropping.
Is my photo uploaded to rotate or crop it?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Can I straighten by more than 45 degrees?
The slider caps at 45 degrees in either direction, since anything more is really a rotation, not a straightening. Use Rotate for a 90 degree turn first if you need one.
